PhotoCraft for Mac — Universal DMG and first launch

Choose the Universal DMG for everyday desktop editing on an Apple silicon or Intel Mac.

Get the desktop DMG

Download links below point directly to the official v0.7.0 GitHub release, checked on 2026-10-11. Newer releases may be available after this date; read the latest release notes (opens a new tab) before installing.

Download the Universal DMG (opens a new tab) (84.1 MB)

The Universal package contains Apple silicon and Intel builds. Check Apple menu → About This Mac and the official packaging requirements before installing on an older system. The product page’s platform labels are not a measured RAM or disk-space requirement.

Download macOS Universal CLI ZIP (opens a new tab) (64.7 MB) is a separate headless tool for scripts and agents. Download it only if you need command-line editing; it is not the drag-and-drop desktop installer.

Install into Applications

  1. Read the release notes and verify your DMG.
  2. Open the disk image and drag PhotoCraft.app to Applications.
  3. Wait for copying to complete, then eject the disk image.
  4. Launch the installed application from Applications. Follow the normal macOS first-launch prompt.
  5. Check Help → About PhotoCraft, open a photo copy and save a small practice file.

Launching from Applications helps avoid confusion between an installed version and another copy still inside the mounted DMG. If updating, close the old app before replacing it and retain a backup of your important documents.

Read a Gatekeeper or compatibility warning

If macOS says the app is damaged, unsupported, or has an unexpected publisher, keep the precise wording. Check that the DMG came from the official release and that the download completed. Compare the system requirements for that release with your macOS version.

The official packaging documentation describes signing and notarization of macOS releases. A warning still deserves investigation; routinely removing quarantine attributes or disabling Gatekeeper does not identify the cause. A locally built app may differ from a published release.

For help, include Mac model, Apple silicon or Intel, macOS version, PhotoCraft tag and the exact message in an official issue report (opens a new tab). If the application launches but a document fails, keep that separate from installation and test with a small first project.
